I AM

06/17/2026

Building community is kind of our whole thing, so this one hits close to home.

We’re honored to host the very first Pride in Practice, created by Calm and Focused Therapy and Phoenix Therapeutics, PLLC. It’s a space for LGBTQIA+ and allied clinicians to meet, network, and feel a little less alone in the work they do.

Feel free to join us in supporting q***r therapists and q***r owned businesses across the Triangle this Pride Month. Join us Sunday, June 28 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM right here at Unhinged.

To every clinician holding space for others: come let someone hold a little space for you.

As Mental Health Awareness Month comes to a close, I’ve found myself reflecting on the importance of community in the work we do.

Mental health care was never meant to happen in isolation. No single provider, practice, or organization can meet every need—and that’s okay. Some of the most meaningful moments in this field happen when we’re able to connect someone with the right support, at the right time.

This month has reminded me that strengthening mental health care isn’t only about raising awareness. It’s also about building relationships, sharing resources, and creating pathways to care that extend beyond our own offices.

As we move beyond May, one of our goals at Phoenix Therapeutics is to continue growing a trusted referral network of clinicians, healthcare providers, and community partners who share a commitment to supporting the wellbeing of those we serve.

By working together, we can:
✨ Improve access to care
✨ Increase referral options for clients
✨ Support continuity of services
✨ Strengthen our local community

If you’re a provider and would like to be included in our referral directory, we would love to connect. Please scan the QR code and complete our referral network form.

How do we continue learning from one another? How do we continue showing up for our communities? How do we ensure that people are connected to the support they need when they need it most?

Because healing is rarely a solo journey.

💚 Healing Together, Rising Stronger.

This Mental Health Awareness Month, I had the honor of partnering with All Saints' United Methodist Church to facilitate our Intersectionality & Mental Health presentation and train members of their congregation in Su***de Prevention through the lens of QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer). 💚✨

One of my favorite parts of this work is creating spaces where people can learn, grow, and support one another without judgment. Conversations around mental health and su***de prevention matter, and education helps us build stronger, more supportive communities. 🫶🏽

Want to bring a training or workshop to your organization, church, school, or community group? Check out our website at www.phoenixtherapeuticspllc.com/education to learn more about what we offer! Let’s continue increasing awareness, reducing stigma, and growing together. 🌱💚

🌿 Healing from trauma is possible. At Phoenix Therapeutics, we offer Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) — a powerful, evidence-based therapy that helps the brain reprocess traumatic memories and reduce their emotional impact.

In addition to EMDR, our team provides other trauma-informed treatments, including DBT, CBT, and talk therapy approaches tailored to your unique journey of healing.

✨ We are currently accepting new clients and would be honored to walk alongside you in your healing process.

Many people living with trauma are deeply self-aware.

They can explain their patterns.
Recognize triggers.
Understand where certain responses come from.

And still feel stuck in the emotional or physical experience of it.

That’s because healing is not just intellectual.

Trauma can impact the nervous system, emotional responses, beliefs, and the way distress is stored in the brain and body.

Healing is not measured by how well you can explain your pain.
And needing support does not make your progress any less real. ✨

POV: you came to therapy for “one small thing” and left with a full system update 😅

Somewhere between “I’m fine” and “…oh.” is where things start to make a little more sense.

And yeah—sometimes it looks like:
✨ overthinking everything
✨ avoiding your body like it’s optional
✨ intellectualizing your feelings with impressive accuracy

Not as healing— but as patterns that once helped you get through… and sometimes it looks like laughing at how real all of that is.

But here’s something we don’t talk about enough:
Even small moments of laughter can signal safety to your nervous system.

Not fixing everything.
Not solving the past.
Just… a brief moment of not being in survival mode. And that matters…

With World Laughter Day coming up on May 3rd, consider this your reminder to find people, spaces, or moments that let you laugh without bracing. — That is part of healing too.
Send this to someone who would laugh with you ✨

; World Semicolon Day ;

A semicolon represents a pause… not an end.

Today, we stand in support of those who have faced depression, anxiety, self-harm, and suicidal thoughts, and chose to keep going.

Your voice matters.
Your life has purpose.

Let today be a reminder to check in, speak up, and support one another. Sometimes the smallest conversations can make the biggest difference. 💚

If you’re struggling, you don’t have to go through it alone.
