Juneteenth reminds us that freedom is not just about the past. It's about the bonds we build, the communities we strengthen, and the way we show up for one another every day.

Today, we honor the resilience, courage, and hope of those who came before us. We celebrate the progress made, while recognizing that our greatest strength has always been found in unity, compassion, and a shared belief that every person deserves dignity and opportunity.

As we reflect on this important day, may we continue to listen, learn, and lead with kindness. When we come together, support one another, and embrace our shared humanity, we create a stronger North Carolina for everyone.

Happy Juneteenth.
