🔥 Your Community Faces a Growing Wildfire Threat. Here's What to Do About It

North Carolina's wildland-urban interface is expanding. Dry conditions. Development in wooded areas. The risk is real.

But there's a solution: Fire-adapted communities.

The National Fire Academy is offering a two-day course on building WUI resilience. This isn't theoretical: you'll leave with an actionable plan for your community.

📍November 21-22 in Emmitsburg, Maryland
For fire chiefs, urban planners, emergency managers, and fire and life safety educators willing to take that first step.

Spots are filling up quickly, with less than 20 left. Register with Kim Williams at 919-647-0093 or [email protected] using the link in the comments below!

Our Risk Management team spent the past three days in Knoxville at the STRIMA Conference, connecting with risk management professionals from states across the country.

We’re especially proud of Tarsha and the way she represented the North Carolina Office of State Fire Marshal and the State of North Carolina. She had the opportunity to share the work happening here in North Carolina, learn from her peers and build relationships with risk management professionals from across the country.

Tarsha brings energy, curiosity and a genuine passion for her work — qualities that make a difference not only within OSFM, but across the state. She continues to build strong partnerships and help advance a new standard for risk management in North Carolina.

And Tarsha — you represented North Carolina exceptionally well! We’re proud to have you on Team OSFM!

✔️ Look over your cords for any damage
✔️ Keep the grill at least 10 feet away from your home
✔️ And remember, never leave the grill unattended!

We're wishing NC a fantastic and safe Labor Day! 🎉

Honored to attend the North Carolina Manufactured & Modular Homebuilders Association (NCMHA) 2026 Annual Meeting, where an exciting new partnership was announced to support training and safety across North Carolina’s manufactured housing industry.

NCMHA is partnering with OSFM to provide manufactured homes to the Emergency Training Center. The new training units will be used for hands-on training for manufacturers, industry partners, inspectors, installation contractors, and transporters from across the state.

Expected to be completed by January 2027, the addition will strengthen training opportunities and help enhance safety, code compliance, and professionalism throughout the industry.
