I am incredibly proud of my brother, Rep. John Lowery, and the leadership he has shown for our community. After 137 years of perseverance, the Lumbee people have finally received full federal recognition — the fulfillment of a promise long denied. As Chairman of the Lumbee Tribe and now serving in the NC General Assembly, John helped lead this historic effort with integrity, determination, and a deep love for our people. This is a powerful moment for the Lumbee community and all of southeastern North Carolina. I couldn’t be prouder.

I’m proud to share that we secured an additional $5 million — bringing the total state investment to $9.5 million — to build a brand new Regional Emergency Response Center at UNC Pembroke.

This facility will strengthen emergency preparedness and disaster response across southeastern North Carolina, ensuring our communities are safer and more resilient when storms strike.

Thank you to my colleagues in the NC General Assembly for working together to make this critical project a reality for UNC Pembroke, Robeson County, and all of Eastern North Carolina.

🚨Upcoming rain events - While the end of the summer was extremely dry, Robeson County and southeastern North Carolina need to remain vigilant. Expect up to 3 inches of rain between today and Sunday, followed by up to 6 inches between Monday and Wednesday of next week.

During my time in the General Assembly, we have been able to accomplish so much. We have much more to do to ensure that Robeson County and southeastern North Carolina are the best place to live, work, worship, raise a family, and retire. God has blessed me with the opportunity to serve you, and it has truly been an honor. But now God has opened a new door, and I'm ready to walk through it to continue my life of service.

Thanks to the Youth Sports Grant Fund, our community has received $20,000 to support local athletics:
⚽ St. Pauls Soccer – facility upgrades
🏈 Robeson Parks & Rec – youth football equipment
⚾ Robeson Rec Dept. – baseball & safety equipment
⚽ Pembroke Parks & Rec – soccer upgrades
⚾ Robeson Community College – new baseball program

These investments mean better facilities, safer equipment, and more opportunities for our young athletes to learn, compete, and grow.
