EVENT REMINDERS FOR TOMORROW & WEDNESDAY!

As we get ready for our LIHEAP Cooling Season Walk-In Days, here are a few important reminders and guidelines to ensure your visit is as smooth and quick as possible!

Our team is ready and excited to serve as many local families as our funding allows. No appointment needed, just walk right in! 🤗

When: September 15 & 16 | 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Where: 900 38th St N, Birmingham, AL 35222 📍
Who: Eligible low-income residents who have not yet received LIHEAP cooling assistance this season.

💡 Important Reminders Before You Come
👟Expect a Wait: Lines may move a bit slowly, so please be prepared to wait. Wearing comfortable shoes and bringing a bottle of water will make your time in line much easier!

☔ Be Weather Aware: Since waiting areas may extend outdoors, keep an eye on the forecast and consider bringing an umbrella or rain layer just in case Mother Nature brings a shower!

📑 Double-Check Your Paperwork: Arriving with all required paperwork ready to go is the absolute best way to help our team process your application quickly.

Please bring original documents for everything listed below:
🪪 Social Security Cards: Original cards for every member of your household (no copies accepted).
🆔 Photo ID: Valid, unexpired Alabama picture ID for the head of household (and spouse, if applicable).
⚡ Power Bill: Current, unpaid original electric bill in the head of household or spouse’s name (include a lease or rental agreement if the bill is in your landlord's name).
💵 Proof of Household Income: Gross income documentation for the previous month for ALL household members (pay stubs, Social Security, SSI, pension, unemployment, VA benefits, child support, TANF, etc. Note: Bank statements are not accepted).
📑 Housing & Custody Docs (if applicable): Lease and housing choice voucher for reduced-income housing (Public Housing, Section 8, etc.), or official court/DHR documentation for non-parental guardians.

On Tuesday, we had the pleasure of hosting the Leadership DeKalb class at our Rainsville office. Our heart has always been in every community we serve, so it meant the world to give these amazing leaders a little tour of our space and share the heartbeat behind our work. We spoke to them about our CAANEAL services and programs, and all the ways we strive to show up for our neighbors every single day.

We are so grateful to Leadership DeKalb for taking the time to listen, learn, and connect with us.
