The Rainbow City Fire Department is proud to announce the promotion of two outstanding firefighters to the rank of Lieutenant.

Please join us in congratulating Shane Brown on his promotion to Lieutenant. Lieutenant Brown will be assigned to C-Shift, where he will continue to serve our department and community with dedication, professionalism, and leadership.

We would also like to congratulate Chris McCarver on his promotion to Lieutenant. Lieutenant McCarver will be assigned to A-Shift, where he will take on his new leadership role and continue his commitment to excellence in the fire service.

Both of these individuals have demonstrated exceptional work ethic, commitment to training, and a strong dedication to serving the citizens of Rainbow City. We are confident they will excel in their new positions and help lead the next generation of firefighters within our department.

Please join us in welcoming our newest firefighter, Kooper Hood, to the Rainbow City Fire Department family. Kooper is a recent graduate of Southside High School and will officially be joining Bravo Shift this upcoming week. We are excited to have him alongside our firefighters as he begins his career serving the citizens of Rainbow City and our surrounding community. We look forward to watching Kooper grow within our department and wish him a long and successful career in the fire service.

We would also like to congratulate one of our own, Landon Ball, on his promotion to Assistant Chief. Assistant Chief Ball will now serve as the shift commander for Charlie Shift and take on an important leadership role within our department. His dedication, work ethic, and commitment to serving our community have helped prepare him for this next step in his career.

Today, crews from the Rainbow City Fire Department responded to an ALS-level medical emergency involving a suspected stroke within our community.

Thanks to the training, coordination, and advanced resources available to our department, our team was able to rapidly assess, treat, and expedite transport to definitive care where every second truly matters.

Through the assistance of Survival Flight 16, the patient was quickly transported, significantly reducing time to advanced intervention and improving overall patient outcomes. The patient was transported to UAB Hospital, where specialized stroke care was immediately available.
