Why I'm Voting For Tom Kean
By Micheal Pakay
I will be the first to admit that Tom Kean is not charismatic and does not speak with a lot of enthusiasm. Are we voting for our representative in Congress or for an American Idol contestant?
Rebecca Bennett keeps saying how Tom Kean was the deciding vote for the Big Beautiful Bill. How did this bill help the middle class?
1. No tax on tips, overtime or Social Security. My wife and I saved $2,000.00 in federal income taxes because the BBB gave us an additional senior deduction. $6,000 senior deduction per person 65+
2. If you still claim minor children of your federal taxes, you received an addition $1,000.00 tax credit per child. That is $1,000.00 directly off your tax liability not your income. Let's say a single mom with three children, she just paid $3,000.00 less in federal income tax because of the BBB.
3. If you purchased an new American made automobile, you may deduct the interest on your car loan.
4. Charitable Contributions, $1,000 for single filers and $2,000 for married couples filing jointly
I'm sure there are more tax savings for the middle class because of the BBB that I'm not remembering. The question that interests me, why did the Democrats not vote for this middle class tax savings, because some rich guy from Texas will be saving on their taxes as well. BTW, the single mom example pays for a lot of our overpriced gas.
