Our Special Guest Speaker is North Carolina Supreme Court Justice Anita Earles. She is no stranger to Hoke County and if you miss this event you will truly miss a treat.

The Hoke County Democratic Party held our last business meeting of the year 2025 tonight. We also hosted the party's first annual Christmas Dinner (gala). Our Chairman, Harry Southerland presided over the event with passion and humility. The party recognized all past and current elected officials as well as notable community leaders. Mr. Darrin Mcneill, CEO of Serenity Therapeutic Services was presented the Business of the Year Award, Rev. Ophelia R. Fenner, CEO of Maggie's Outreach Community Service was presented the party's Community Service Award and Dr. Peggy Owens of the Hoke County School District was also presented the party's Community Service Award.

While we enjoyed dinner from two catered meal lines a jazz band played music in the background. Our party chair recognized the owners of the fabulous venue where we celebrated our Christmas cheer, Mr. Jamal Shahbian of J&K Constructions and David Hasan of MSquare Constructions. The Shahbian Farm Events Center is truly one of Hoke County's hidden jewels. Thank you gentlemen for the generosity shown tonight.

These gentlemen also assisted the HCDP with gifts for lucky Democrats attending the event. Bikes, Large Screen TVs and yes Money was given the luck ones. Apostle/Attorney Gregory Thompson took his Wife's winnings and gave it to several single mothers.

The Hoke County Democratic Party had fun tonight and put smiles on the faces of a lot of Hoke County residents. Happy Holidays!

Hoke County, North Carolina is making history again today. The Groundbreaking Ceremony of the Pennsylvania Transformer Technology (PTT) Distribution Transformer Manufacturing Facility is taking place. Governor Josh Stein and PTT President, Sandeep Chakravarty was welcomed to our community by our County Commissioners Chairman, James A. Leach and Legislative Representative, Garland Pierce. This new technology enterprise is a one hundred million dollar investment opportunity for Hoke County. It will employ more than 200 trained technicians paying a salary of upwards of $65,000 per year. May God continue to bless the families of Hoke County. Another great day in the neighborhood.

Good evening my Facebook Family and friends. Raeford, North Carolina has a new municipal leader. City Councilwoman Shirley Hart was sworn in this evening along side Mayor John McNeill and Councilman Wayne Willis. May God bless this new leadership team as they serve the citizens of our growing County seat. We at the Hoke County Democratic Party are proud of Councilwoman Shirley Hart!

The Hoke County Democratic Party hosted our monthly meeting at the Hoke County Library tonight. While we had cold/wet inclement weather a strong number of committed Democrats came out. District Court Judge Tron Ross visited the party meeting. And 9th Congressional District Candidate Richard Ojeda also came by to visit. Two Raeford municipal candidates also attended the meeting. Mayoral candidate, Jeremy Hollingsworth presented his platform strategy for victory. As well as Raeford City Council candidate, Shirley Hart shared her very passionate vision for our only municipality and county seat.

Chairman, Harry Southerland shared some exciting news regarding possible acquiring a permanent meeting place for the party. First Vice Chair Christina Davis-McCoy stressed that precinct organization is still a very important concern. Several social media platform opportunities were discussed and technical support identified as we seek to educate our voters.

Precinct #5 and our candidates Jeremy Hollingsworth and Shirley Hart are hosting a "Get Out The Vote, Cook Out" on Friday, October 31, 2025 from 11am - 2pm. This citywide food and fun event will be held at the Burlington Park, 560 N. Dickson Street, Raeford, NC. Lot of excitement and fun for all. Transportation to the polls will be provided during this event. All politics are local and every vote count.

The Hoke County Democratic Party held our monthly meeting this evening. Thank you for the massive turnout of committed Democrats. We had a full agenda and conducted some very exciting business planning for countywide events. Precinct organization is at the top of list. Therefore, please check with your Precinct leaders for your upcoming activities and planned events. Remember, all politics are local and every vote count. Democracy is not a spectator's sport. Let's get involved.

The Hoke County Democratic Party hosted the North Carolina Democratic Party Chair, Ms Anderson Clayton this evening. Chair Clayton and North Carolina Appeals Court Judge Tobias Hampson provided a clear strategy for victory in upcoming elections during the North Carolina Democratic Party Rural ListeningTour. Our County Party Chair, Harry Southerland presided and welcomed a room of more than 70 committed and excited Democrats. County and Municipal elected officials; as well as County business and civic leaders attending rural listening tour. Local Municipal, State Legislative and 9th Congressional District Candidates were given an opportunity to address the gathering. The event begin with a very filling catered meal. Great dialog with informed questions and answers between our guests and the audience. Outstanding Event!

The Hoke County Democratic Party hosted our annual convention today. Dr. William Munn and nearly his entire leadership team decided not to seek reelection. However, the convention elected a dynamic new leadership team and set forth an ambitious agenda for continued success. Our new leaders are as follows: Chairman, Harry Southerland; 1st Vice Chair, Christina Davis-McCoy; 2nd Vice Chair, Don Woods; 3rd Vice Chair, Sasha Thompson; and Secretary, Rayvonda Rowe. Several appointments were made to the leadership team consisting of Treasurer, Daphne Graham-Dudley; Fundraising Chair and Assistant Treasurer, Dr. William Munn and Parliamentarian, Larry Readdy.
