🎃 LAST CHANCE TO JOIN THE BOO CREW! 👻

Little Pumpkin Hollow is almost here, and we need YOU!

🍂 Monday, October 26: Help us decorate Hoke Grown Community Garden from 12:00 - 2:00 PM!

🎃 Friday, October 30: Help run a successful event! We still need to fill the following volunteer positions:

2 Floaters

Our biggest need is October 30! Teen volunteers needing school community service hours are welcome, and we can provide a letter verifying hours if needed.

Event day volunteers are encouraged to wear family-friendly costumes if desired!

All volunteers on the 30th are asked to arrive by 2:30 PM and stay until 6:30 PM.

Your help makes future fun and educational experiences for HCPAT families possible!

Our Expanded Food and Nutrition Program educator, Tamika, was spying on one of the teachers after finishing a six week partnership with Hoke High School that gave students a real look into what they eat and how it affects their bodies.

He is filling up his EFNEP water bottle after watching the students count how many teaspoons of sugar was in their favorite soft drinks. 😆👏

Great impacts were made in food resource management, food safety, and physical activity. Students enjoyed lessons about eating smart, Finding the fat, and watching out for added sugars.

Above all students enjoyed the hands on activities when they made vegetable stir fry and homemade pizzas.

Not only did the students learn a lot but it seems that the teachers did too!
