Puppy Creek Fire Department Chief R. Whiteside, Asst. Chief T. Bunce, Lt. Hampel, Lt. Hunt, Lt. Locklear We employ thirteen full time firefighters and approximately 20 volunteers.

PCFD is a combination fire department servicing the Puppy Creek fire district of Hoke County, NC. We service about 18,500 residents and 7000 structures. We have two hospitals within three miles, dozens of commercial structures, and daycares. We have an active and exciting fire protection program established to provide training and guidance on fire protection, safety, and fire prevention throughout

the area. Presently we have one E-One ladder (33), one E-One Rescue Pumper (32), one KME engines (31), a service truck (38), a brush truck (39), and a Chief's vehicle (30). We respond to approximately 650 calls annually

Puppy Creek Fire Department Pups of the Week, Bubba and Mario,here to let you know if you're unsure whether your smoke detectors are expired, need new batteries, or are working properly, the firefighters at Puppy Creek Fire Department are happy to help. We'll come to your home, inspect your smoke detectors, and make sure they're functioning correctly.
All you need to do is call the station at 910-875-5283 and schedule an appointment.

This week’s pups are Bubba (left) and Mario (right). Bubba is a 2 year old male hound mix picked up as a stray. He was a a happy boy who is available now has a reduced adoption fee! Mario is a 10 month old male lab mix. He was a sweet boy who loved to give hugs. He was an owner surrender and he also had a reduced adoption fee!

Sign up today for the Puppy Creek Fire Department Run for a Cure 5K!

Whether you want to join us in person or participate from anywhere through our virtual run option, we would love to have you be part of this event. Every step taken helps support local individuals battling breast cancer.

We are also looking for vendors who would like to set up at the event to promote and sell their products while supporting an incredible cause.

All proceeds from the Run for a Cure 5K benefit Cape Fear Valley Hoke Hospital and help provide resources for breast cancer patients in our community, including:
• Mammograms
• Wigs
• Transportation assistance to appointments
• And other vital support services

Puppy Creek Fire Department Pups of the Week, Roxy and Papichulo, are here to tell everyone that electrical fires can happen quickly and without warning, but many are preventable with a few simple safety habits. Help protect your home and family by following these electrical safety tips:

Avoid overloading outlets and extension cords
Replace damaged or frayed cords immediately
Keep electrical appliances away from water
Unplug small appliances when not in use
Use surge protectors for electronics
Never run cords under rugs or furniture
Have a licensed electrician inspect faulty wiring
Test your smoke alarms regularly

If you notice flickering lights, burning smells, or warm outlets, don’t ignore the warning signs. Staying proactive can help prevent dangerous electrical fires.

Puppy Creek Fire Department Pups of the Week, Daisy and Scarlett, are bringing some Memorial Day weekend fire safety tips:
Keep grills away from homes, decks, and anything flammable.
Never leave a grill or fire pit unattended.
Fully extinguish charcoal and outdoor fires before leaving the area.

This week’s pups, are Daisy (right) and Scarlett (left). Daisy is a 7 year old female pit bull mix. She was an owner surrender and is available for adoption now. Scarlett is a 2 year old female pit bull mix and was found as a stray. She is available for adoption now as well.
