More than half of Colorado households lack access to recycling.

This year, Colorado’s Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) law went into effect, with the aim of making recycling more accessible to families across the state and reducing waste over time.

Our new short film looks at what EPR could mean for Colorado — and for the future of recycling.

Abandoned fishing nets. Aluminum cans. Plastic. Glass bottles. These are just some of the things volunteers found along the coastline and in the surrounding waters of Tioman Island during the Reef Check Malaysia annual Kod Blue event as part of International Coastal Cleanup Day, held with support from SC Johnson.

More than 50 residents, volunteers and government representatives took part in beach and underwater cleanups, removing more than 410 kg of marine debris in just one day.

SC Johnson is proud to be a longtime supporter of Reef Check Malaysia’s work to reduce marine waste and strengthen community-based conservation efforts.

Do you remember when Windex® looked like this?
Long before the iconic blue spray bottle we know today, Windex® was sold in a glass bottle with a metal spray pump that was sold separately.

A lot has changed in 90 years. Windex® has appeared in plenty of different forms along the way, including an aerosol version introduced in 1957, wipes in 1961, and the familiar trigger sprayer added to bottles in 1977.

And that unmistakable blue? For years, many glass cleaners on the market were blue due to the popularity of Windex’s original formulation.

Windex® joined the SC Johnson family of brands in 1992, continuing a history that began back in 1936.

Swipe through nine decades of Windex® advertising and packaging from our archives. Which version do you remember?

What can local waterways tell us about plastic waste?

Created by Royal Holloway, University of London and supported by SC Johnson, Ocean Plastics: Research and Action explores how plastics can travel through rivers and waterways after escaping waste systems.

Through research and real-world examples, visitors can discover how understanding these pathways helps inform human efforts to reduce plastic waste.

The exhibition is free and open to the public, now at Royal Holloway’s Egham campus.

As we continue celebrating 140 years in business, we’ve been digging through the SC Johnson archives and uncovering some remarkable pieces of our history.

This gem takes us back to the spring of 1939, when Frank Lloyd Wright’s Administration Building in Racine had just opened its doors. The newsreel introduces it as “the world of tomorrow,” showcasing features that must have felt remarkably modern at the time, from the abundant natural light and tubular glass to the open elevators, expansive Great Workroom and even the desks and chairs designed specifically for the building.

More than 87 years later, these distinctive details remain part of our global headquarters campus in Racine, Wisconsin. Today, visitors can still experience the Administration Building, along with Wright’s Research Tower, through SC Johnson’s campus tours.

Ticks aren't just a problem deep in the woods. You can encounter them in your own yard, around your neighborhood or anywhere you spend time outdoors.⁣

And because ticks and their bites can be difficult to notice, protecting yourself means taking steps before and during time outside, and checking for ticks when you come back in.⁣

Learn how simple prevention steps can help protect you and your family from tick bites and the diseases they can transmit: https://scjohnson.com/en/news-stories/blog/tackling-ticks-how-tick-control-efforts-can-help-protect-your-family-from-bites

Glade® first appeared on shelves 70 years ago in 1956. Back then, there were just two fragrances to choose from: Evergreen and Blossom.

A lot has changed since then, including the packaging, fragrances and advertising — but Glade® has been part of homes for generations.

We're celebrating 70 years by looking back at some of our favorite ads from the archives!

Which one takes you back?

This World Mosquito Day, we’re recognizing the people, partnerships and innovation helping protect communities from mosquito-borne disease.
In 2024 alone, there were an estimated 282 million malaria cases and 610,000 deaths worldwide.

Through our Healthier World Initiative, SC Johnson is helping advance practical prevention tools, including SC Johnson Guardian™ and Mosquito Shield™, distributed at no cost to communities at greatest risk.

We’re grateful to the SC Johnson people and public health partners continuing this important work to help reduce the burden of mosquito-borne disease.
