🎨 Quitman is proud to be part of Wood County Walls 2026 Texas Street Art Festival!

Our contribution to this year’s festival will feature Miami artist Luis Valle, who will create a tribute to the flora and fauna of Wood County.

The public art will be created across all four walls of the restrooms at Gov. Jim Hogg City Park in Quitman.

Each wall will highlight iconic plants and animals common to Wood County, including the Eastern Bluebird, Red-tailed Hawk, White-tailed Deer, Bobcat and, of course, if it’s Quitman, there has to be a Dogwood.

Luis will bring his internationally recognized signature style of concentric dots, outlining compelling visual images. He has also blended the natural tones of Wood County with the vibrant splashes of color inspired by his Miami home.

Luis will begin work on the murals September 20 with the project expected to be completed in about a week. A dedication of the artwork is planned for September 26, as part of the celebration of three new murals being created across Wood County in Quitman, Winnsboro and Mineola.

The Quitman project is supported by the Quitman Development Corporation, Love Wood County, Upper Sabine Valley Solid Waste and Flint & Steel Coalition.

🏗️ Another exciting step forward for business growth in Quitman!

Construction is underway on the future home of Smith Builders & Developers, and yesterday brought an exciting milestone with the concrete pour.

We love seeing new investment taking shape right here in our community. Projects like this represent continued growth, new opportunities and businesses choosing to build their future in Quitman.

We’re excited to watch this project take shape and look forward to seeing what’s next for Smith Builders & Developers!

For 17 years, Seth's Lake Fork Creek Steak and Seafood has been serving great food, welcoming visitors, and creating lasting memories in Quitman.
