Please be advised that Jackson Parish is NOT currently under a burn ban; however, we HIGHLY DISCOURAGE any outdoor burning at this time due to the worsening drought conditions, shifting winds, and low humidity which increases the fire danger risk! We will continue to monitor the fire conditions and will update any changes if/when they occur! Burn Ban for Jackson Parish has been lifted.

Today we assisted Bienville Parish Fire District 7 along with Jonesboro Fire Department and Hodge Fire District with an unintentionally set woods fire, just over the Jackson/Bienville Parish line, that burned over 50 acres and unfortunately did burn a structure. Even though we recently had some rain it is still very dry and the weather conditions are favorable for fires to get out of control quickly. Therefore, the burn ban is still in effect.
