The City of Quitman’s Juneteenth Celebration is approaching!

As we prepare for this meaningful community celebration, we are excited to bring together culture, reflection, remembrance, and unity.

This year’s event will not only celebrate freedom and community, but will also include a special tribute honoring Mary Turner, whose tragic story remains an important part of Brooks County’s history and a reminder of the resilience, strength, and continued pursuit of justice.

Join us as we come together to honor the past, celebrate the present, and uplift the future through music, community engagement, local vendors, and shared experiences.

We’re working hard behind the scenes to make this a meaningful and memorable event for all, and more updates will be shared soon.

We have learned of a tree that has fallen over at Oak Hill Cemetery. We have contacted the aporopriate personnel and hope to have this resolved as soon as possible.
