Love adventure? Want to restore our national forests? Crave outdoor adventure? The Plumas NF is recruiting for several "on-call" fire crews. Applicants must be 18 by April 1, 2018 and pass a pack test on the day of sign-ups. No experience is necessary and you are paid to attend training (what's not to like?). You'll need to sign-up in person on April 7 or 8 in Quincy, CA. Well the 2014 fire season is more or less wrapped up. If any crew members have photos that they would like to share on this page you can email them to me at [email protected]. Please limit the number of photos to your best 5 or 10 so that I don't have a million of them to sort through. Thanks for a great season. Also check back from time to time this winter for recruitment information for the 2015 season. The plan is to field two crews out of Quincy for next year.

Thank you for visiting the OC-19 page. We are hard at work getting things lined up for a succesful 2014 fire season. Please note the dates posted in the events portion of this page for crew registration and work capacity test (aka WCT or pack test). Wildland firefighters are required to pass the work capacity test at the arduous level = 3 miles in 45 minutes wearing a 45 lbs pack. We will be administering the WCT at the Feather River College athletic field track. Testers are allowed/reccommended to wear running shoes and workout clothes. Weighted pack vests will be provided.
