Teens Active in Grantmaking meetings for the 2025-2026 cohort may have come to an end, but our work hasn't stopped! TAG started their summer by volunteering at Horizons Social Services through United Way of Adams County, Inc. Day of Caring to make a difference in their community, one pallet at a time.

As we wrap up our 2025-2026 Teens Active in Grantmaking cohort, we look forward to kicking off the second year of TAG, too! Save the date for July 6, when applications for high school students in the Quincy area open. For more information, visit us at mycommunityfoundation.org/tag

We’re proud to be a prize sponsor for WCIL Gives this year! Four $1,500 prizes will go to nonprofits in Adams, Brown, Hancock, and Pike Counties, one from each county, chosen by random drawing from organizations that raise at least $1,000. Support the causes you love and help a local nonprofit win a little extra for their community!

This year’s WCIL Gives prize pool has doubled thanks to new prize sponsors and community partners. Our first sponsor spotlight is the Community Foundation Serving West Central Illinois & Northeast Missouri.

The Community Foundation sets out to connect people who care with causes that matter. This year, they’re awarding four $1,500 prizes to fuel impact in Adams, Brown, Hancock, and Pike Counties! One nonprofit from each of the four counties that raises at least $1,000 will be randomly selected and awarded the $1,500 prizes following WCIL Gives on June 12th. How neat is that?

Please join us in thanking the Community Foundation for their support!

It was truly a special afternoon celebrating the hard work of our 2026 scholarship recipients! Because of generous donors, the Community Foundation awarded more than $209,000 in scholarships in 2026 alone. Watching the students stand and be recognized, surrounded by their families and a community that believes in them, was a powerful reminder of why this work matters so much.

With a grant made through the Green-Humphrey Family Fund for Music at your Community Foundation, the John Wood Community College Music Department purchased new percussion instruments! The new additions included a xylophone, cymbal set, tambourine, and triangle — along with a storage cabinet to keep them safe and a chair rack to make concert prep a breeze. These additions give students greater access to quality instruments and a more seamless performance experience.

This is the power of a Donor Advised Fund in action: a generous gift, guided by donor advisors' own values and passions, directing meaningful support in our community.
