🥩 In honor of National Food Bank Day, we’re highlighting a program that means a lot to us! ❤️

Through the Adams County Farm Bureau Foundation Meat Donation Program, local Farm Bureau members have the opportunity to donate a livestock animal, and our Foundation covers the processing costs. Once processed, the meat is donated to a local food pantry of their choosing right here in Adams County.

It’s a simple idea with a BIG impact: locally raised livestock, processed locally, and helping provide locally grown meat to families in our own community. 🐖🐄🥩

We’re incredibly thankful for the members who donate livestock, the local processors who help make this program possible, and the food pantries who get this meat into the hands of those who need it most.

This is what happens when our agricultural community comes together to take care of our community. ❤️🌾

🚨TAKE ACTION: Protect American Beef Production 🚨

(ACTION REQUEST LINK IN COMMENTS)

Illinois Farm Bureau and Illinois Beef Association are asking you to urge Congress and the White House to protect American beef production.

An additional 660 million pounds of foreign beef is set to enter the U.S. over just 90 days at prices 25% below market value, undercutting producers.

Now is not the time. Farmers need long-term market stability, allowing producers to rebuild the U.S. cattle herd, increase American beef production and ensure consumers have access to a safe, abundant and affordable food supply.

The Community Foundation is AWESOME! 🎉

This summer, the Adams County Farm Bureau Foundation has been fortunate to receive TWO grants from the Community Foundation, and we are incredibly grateful for their support of agriculture and our community!

🚜 AgForward Grant: Made possible through the Bob W. Richter Endowment for Agricultural Education and the Compeer Financial Rural Collaboration Project, this grant will allow us to purchase two new pedal tractors and a new sled to replace the ones we have used for more than 15 years! These are used at the Adams County Fair, Farmer Appreciation Picnic, Mendon Fall Festival, Adams-Brown Old Settlers Picnic, and many other community events. We can’t wait to put the new equipment to work!

🥩 Grant Program Cycle: Made possible through the Grace United Methodist Church of Quincy Fund, this grant will help us expand our budget for our meat donation program. This program helps provide locally raised pork and beef to area food pantries and families in need right here in our community.

A HUGE THANK YOU to the Community Foundation for investing in the Adams County Farm Bureau Foundation and supporting the programs that make a difference in our community! We are so thankful for partners who believe in what we are doing! ❤️🌾

🎉 Thank You, Adams County! 🎉

A BIG thank you to everyone who joined us for our Farmer Appreciation Picnic last Thursday! We were excited to have roughly 650 members come out and enjoy the evening with us! We truly appreciate each and every one of you. ❤️

We enjoyed some delicious food from the Adams County Cattle Association and Boki's Kitchen, and the kids had a blast showing off their skills in the pedal tractor pull! 🚜

We also drew our raffle winners! Congratulations to:
🖤 Blackstone Griddle: Richie Holtschlag
🚜 Set of Titan Tires: Tim Finlay
🎁 Niemann’s Gift Card: Ann Vogal
🥩 Beef Bundle: Angela Lummer
🐖 Pork Bundle: Jane Dedert
🎯 Gun: Jason Brigman

Thank you to everyone who purchased a raffle ticket! Your support helps us give back to our community through Ag in the Classroom, high school and college scholarships, and 4-H grants. We are grateful for your continued support of the Adams County Farm Bureau Foundation and the programs that make a difference right here in Adams County!

We had a great evening celebrating our members and the agriculture community. Thank you for making our Farmer Appreciation Picnic such a success! 🌽🐄🚜
