We have a special event coming up on June 30th that the UF IFAS Extension Gadsden County Office is hosting with the UF IFAS North Florida Research and Education Center (NFREC) in Quincy. The Drought Relief and Agriculture Assistance Summit is a chance for our local farmers and landowners to come and learn about disaster relief programs from state and federal agencies, along with updates on the new Florida and US Farm Bills. This event will feature presentations and panel discussions from federal and state programs, updates from our elected officials, updates from state and local associations working to champion our local agriculture and timber production, and much more! We hope you will join us for a very long but productive day. The event is free to attend, but if you would like to purchase a lunch from our caterer, there is a $15 meal ticket you can purchase through the Eventbrite page. Space is limited for in person attendance at the NFREC seminar room, so please make sure to sign up to reserve your spot.

Always something to learn at the Gadsden Extension Office. Today Sharlee Whiddon, Family and Consumer Science Agent, provided a workshop for our Gadsden Extension Master Gardeners on sun safety. How many times have you thought lately are you following the best practices in sun safety? Contact our office to talk to Sharlee more about this and other great programs we have for small group learning through the Gadsden Extension Office!

What an incredible time our 4-H team had at the Florida A&M University Farm Feast! From crafting bamboo walking sticks to bravely trying edible insects, it was a day full of hands-on learning, laughter, and new experiences.
We were especially honored to share the day with Jill Bramble, President and CEO of the National 4-H Council, and Dean Andra Johnson, UF/IFAS Extension. Moments like these remind us why we do this work, sparking curiosity, building confidence, and creating opportunities for our youth to grow.
We definitely ignited some sparks and made memories that will stick with us long after the day ended! 💚🍀
