Thank you to Senator John Keenan for nominating me as a 2026 Commonwealth Pride Award Recipient. Held by the Massachusetts LGBTQ+ Legislative Caucus, over 100 local leaders were recognized yesterday for championing the LGBTQ+ Community in their respective cities, towns and districts.

As I prepare to step down after almost 10 years leading Quincy Pride, this is timely and very meaningful to me. Honored to be thought of for this inaugural event. It was great to see so many familiar, friendly faces "On the Hill."

Congratulations to everyone! πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ

Quincy District Court’s Law Day 2026 - the first in 45 years without the late, great Clerk Magistrate Arthur Tobin, and the last in the current building. Mr. Tobin loved Law Day and it was very nice to hear so many stories and memories.

Congratulations to all officers who received recognition for their acts of service on duty, especially those on Quincy Police Department! πŸš”

Thank you to City of Quincy LGBTQ Commission for asking Quincy Pride to co-host yet again this year's Progress Pride Flag Raising Ceremony and for allowing me to speak.

A great evening honoring a number of well deserved "Flag Raisers" - Gayle Carvalho of Quincy Education Association, Beth Ann Strollo of Quincy Community Action Programs, Inc., David Bosquin of the United First Parish Church (Unitarian Universalist) Quincy, MA and Cameron Porter of Major Theatre Equipment.

Incredible performances by the Quincy Choral Society and invocations from Quincy Interfaith Network, as well as speeches by Commission Members John McDonald, Jim Petosa, and Nina Liang. πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ

Honored to attend the Dedication of the John P. "Jake" Comer Veterans Services Office this morning. Mr. Comer's resume is both impressive and lengthy. He was recognized for his decades of service to our country including during the Korean War, and afterwards representing the American Legion.

Jake ended his remarks today with a reworking of a Confucius quote (that I will now never forget): "When you hear something, you forget it. When you see something, you remember. When you do, you understand."

We are lucky to say he is from Quincy, and I especially lucky to say from the "Point." It is never lost on me that I get to be in these rooms with so many great families I have the pleasure of representing.

Congratulations, Mr. Comer! πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ
