🎉 Introducing Brush Truck 3522! 🚒

Grant County Fire District #3 is proud to place our newest apparatus into service — a 2016 Ford F-550 Type 5 wildland engine acquired through the Washington Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Surplus Fire Engine Program.

Brush Truck 3522 was fully outfitted and made response-ready thanks to $20,000 in grant funding provided through House Bill 1168. Upgrades included:
• Communications radios
• Emergency lights, sirens, and controller
• Apparatus wrap/graphics
• New tires
• Access steps

This apparatus will be housed at Station 35 in George, strengthening our wildland fire response capabilities and helping ensure our firefighters have the equipment they need to safely serve the community.

We appreciate the continued support and partnerships that make projects like this possible.

🔥 MEMBER SPOTLIGHT🔥

This week, we are proud to spotlight Travis Kirk, one of our dedicated volunteer firefighters serving the community at Grant County Fire District 3.

Travis has served as a volunteer firefighter and tender driver since joining the department in May 1997. Outside of the fire service, he works as a Maintenance Planner for Lineage Logistics.

His decision to join the fire service came after several life-changing events in 1996. In November, he lost his father following a tragic train accident, and just one month later, he nearly lost his wife and son in a house fire in Quincy. Chief Kling had encouraged him to join the department for about a year, and after those experiences, he knew he wanted to give back to his community.

When he’s not serving the community, he enjoys spending time with his kids and grandkids, side-by-side riding in the mountains, hunting, and fishing. He is a proud father of six children and grandfather to six granddaughters. He and his wife, Angel, also opened their home to more than 75 foster children during 14 years of foster care.

Thank you for your years of dedication, compassion, and service to our community! 🚒👏
