Regional Arizona Mounted Search and Rescue

Regional Arizona Mounted Search and Rescue Regional Arizona Mounted Search and Rescue is a non-profit search and rescue team. RAMSAR does not self-deploy.

Regional Arizona Mounted Search and Rescue (RAMSAR) is primarily a remote area or wilderness, mounted SAR team. General missions often involve searching for those reported missing or lost in rural and remote, backcountry areas. We are not trained in, nor participate in higher risk activities of law enforcement. If the Maricopa County Sheriff's office is contacted about a missing person situation,

the Sheriff will determine if circumstances warrant the help of RAMSAR. The RAMSAR team is prepared to be called out in all kinds of weather and at all times of the day or night. If you require Search and Rescue assistance, please reach out to your local police department through the 911 emergency call center. RAMSAR consists of volunteer individuals that provide mounted search and rescue, crime prevention, patrols and community support. The RAMSAR equines are all privately owned by our members. All equipment is purchased by our volunteers, donations and/or sponsorship. RAMSAR is always recruiting new mounted volunteers to join our team. A big thank you to ALA for the fundraiser opportunity‼️ We worked hard together doing parking lot detail for 3 nights of graduation. The team enjoyed dinner together thanks to Caldwells BBQ for opening the back gate during our break. Thank you team for all your hard work and help.

Regional Arizona Mounted Search and Rescue extends its deepest condolences to the families, fellow officers, and all those affected by the Arizona DPS Western helicopter crash. We stand with our partners in public safety during this time of loss and honor the dedication and service of those involved.

We are saddened by the tragic loss of our friends and colleagues from DPS Western Air Rescue. Our deepest condolences to the families of our fallen heroes, who we worked with every day in the service of others. Unselfish sacrifice, serving the public, performing all duties 'so that others may live'.
