September is recognized as Su***de Prevention Month and September 6-12 is National Su***de Prevention Week.

Mental health can occasionally factor into the background investigation process, and DCSA adjudicators consider mental health care a positive course of action and a sign of sound judgment. It is the most common way to mitigate mental health issues and is recognized as a positive step during the personnel vetting process.

🔥Applications are now being accepted for the 2027 DCSA Student Experience!🔥

The DSE is a paid internship program providing students with an opportunity to gain developmental experience in counterintelligence, industrial security, personnel security, security training, and other agency core mission and support areas.

Students work for a required minimum of 10 weeks from June through August as full-time, temporary federal employees. Interns that successfully complete the summer program may be eligible to continue the program during the semester and non-competitively return for the Summer 2028 Cohort.

The application period will remain open until September 30, 2026, or when the first 100 applications for each announcement are received.

DCSA will begin accepting applications for the 2027 DCSA Student Experience (DSE) summer cohort on September 1, 2026.
