L-MADIS, meet MODI ๐Ÿค ๐ŸŽฏ

The Light Marine Air Defense Integrated System (L-MADIS) detects, tracks, and identifies drones by combining radar, electro-optical/infrared sensors, and communications systems to provide 360-degree surveillance and target identification.

The Modular Optical Drone Interdiction (MODI) is an electronic warfare weapon that detects and jams hostile UAS to disrupt the drone's radio frequency, severing communication between the drone and its operator.

Together, L-MADIS and MODI work as a tightly integrated, layered counter-UAS solution.

To learn more about how the Marine Corps' is defending against hostile UAS, visit us at Modern Day Marine on April 28-30, 2026 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.

Today, our leadership and service members gathered for the signing of the SAAPM proclamation, reaffirming our commitment to dignity, respect, and accountability across our military community. Preventing sexual assault is a shared responsibility, and every member of our formation plays a vital role in creating a safe and supportive environment.
Thank you to all who participated and continue to champion this mission. Together, we stand united in supporting survivors and strengthening prevention efforts.

Protecting our people protects our mission.

The Indoor Simulated Marksmanship Trainer, or ISMT, is enhancing training at The Basic School ๐ŸŽฏ

The ISMT is an interactive audio/video simulator that provides training in marksmanship, weapons employment, indirect fire, and tactical decision-making.

"Marines employ a variety of weapons on the battlefield - rifles, pistols, machine guns, mortars, gr***de launchers, anti-tank weapons," said Todd Butler, ISMT project officer, PM Training Systems (PM TRASYS). "Marines are required to master many weapons. ISMT gives Marines the opportunity to get repetitions on these weapons, increasing proficiency, confidence and lethality."

Live-fire is the standard, and nothing can replace it. ISMT allows Marines to drill the fundamentals, so when they step onto the range, they are more prepared, more efficient, and more likely to improve their live-fire performance. As Quantico's PM TRASYS liaison, Paul Nichols stated it's an โ€œexcellent optionโ€ to sharpen skills.

Check out how Marines with F Company, Basic Officer Course 6-25, The Basic School, trained on the ISMT at Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia, earlier this year.

TACTICAL TUESDAY โ„๏ธ๐Ÿ”๏ธ Putting C.O.L.D. weather gear to the test!

C - Keep it CLEAN (dirt clogs pores and reduces insulation)
O - Avoid OVERHEATING (sweat leads to dampness and rapid cooling)
L - Wear it LOOSE and in LAYERS (traps warm air and allows circulation)
D - Keep it DRY (wet loses its ability to keep you warm)
