The Civilian Recreation and Welfare Association (CRWA) are in danger of disbanding. Quantico had the last Base funded CRWA in the Marine Corps and lost all funding last year. In order to keep the organization alive we need civilians to attend meetings and bring some fresh ideas to the table including ideas on fund raising. We offer local events at a reduced price. Past events included Ga***rd National Harbor’s ICE!, Potomac Nationals baseball tickets, Murder Mystery Dinner Theater, Golf Tournaments and many more. Have you attended the Civilian Picnic every August at Barnett Field? The CRWA was responsible for putting that on each year. This will be the first year the picnic will not take place in a very long time. We are down to 1 of the 3 elected board members and minimal attendance at the meetings. Meetings are held the 3rd Wednesday of every month at Gray Research Center from 2-3pm. If you would like to see what CRWA is all about and network with folks outside of your cubicle please join us at our next meeting August 17, in room 136. You can email the President, Bob Hanscom at [email protected] for more information.
