The Quakertown Police Department extends our sincere condolences to the family, friends, and members of the Central Berks Regional Police Department following the loss of Officer Kristen Yeager.

Rest in Peace, Officer Yeager. Your service and dedication will never be forgotten.

Today, our department mourns the heartbreaking loss of Officer Kristen Yeager, who made the ultimate sacrifice while responding to a call for service on May 29, 2026.

We ask that you keep Officer Yeager’s family, friends, and our entire law enforcement family in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.

Rest easy, Officer Yeager. Your watch has ended, but your legacy of service and sacrifice will live on forever. We got it from here.

For the past year, Pennsylvania has been in an educational "grace period" for the Paul Miller's Law.

🛑That period is now soon ending. Starting June 5, 2026, law enforcement will transition from issuing warnings to issuing $50 fines, plus court costs and other fees, for using a phone while driving, even when you are temporarily stopped at red lights, stop signs, or in traffic jams.

Don't drive distracted. More on PA’s hand-held ban here:

Today, on National Peace Officers Memorial Day, we remember and honor the officers who gave their lives in the line of duty.

Earlier this week, our officers paid respect by lowering the flag to half-staff and placing a new wreath at our police memorial.

Alongside honoring the fallen nationwide, we also took time to remember two of our own: Patrolman Edward W. “Edwin” Shearer (End of Watch: July 20, 1936) and Patrolman Franklin V. Shelly (End of Watch: Nov. 14, 1959).

Their service and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Officer Engler recently visited the SMG Clubhouse Daycare Center for a special safety presentation! 🚔👮‍♂️

During the visit, Officer Engler spoke with the children about important safety tips, including when it is appropriate to call 911 and how police officers help keep our community safe. Each child also received their very own Junior Police Badge! ⭐

Thank you to SMG Clubhouse for welcoming us and giving us the opportunity to connect with these amazing kids.

Congratulations to the Quakertown Police Department Citizen’s Police Academy Class of 2026 on their graduation earlier this month! 🎓👏

Over the course of the academy, participants had the opportunity to learn firsthand about police operations, community partnerships, investigations, patrol procedures, and the many responsibilities our officers handle each day. All graduates are then eligible to join our Auxiliary Police Partnership (APP) program to continue to volunteer their time helping the Quakertown Borough community.

We are grateful for the time, dedication, and enthusiasm shown by each graduate. Programs like the Citizen’s Police Academy help strengthen the relationship between our department and the community we proudly serve.

Congratulations again to the Class of 2026 — and thank you for your commitment to making Quakertown a safer and stronger community! 🚔💙
