Twenty-five years later, we remember.
We're proud to have Milford Township Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 at our Milford Financial Center today as we reflect on the legacy of service and sacrifice that emerged on September 11 and honor the lives lost, the heroes who answered the call and the resilience that followed.

On September 11, 2001, the FDNY sent an unprecedented number of firefighters and officers into the World Trade Center as the attacks unfolded.

343 FDNY members were killed, including chiefs, fire marshals, chaplains and firefighters from companies across the city. The losses affected 75 firehouses, with at least one member killed from each.

And the toll continued for years, as many responders later died from illnesses linked to their work at Ground Zero. This image is tribute artwork, not a historical photograph.

How should we remember the people behind those 343 names?
