Putney Library and Scott Farm partner for Crêpe Night fundraiser!
Wednesday, June 10th at Scott Farm 5:30-7:30pm
***Event held at Scott Farm***

Putney Library and Scott Farm are partnering for a delicious, fun-filled, and scenic Crêpe Night on Wednesday, June 10th! Crêpe Nights are family-friendly gatherings, held regularly at Scott Farm (707 Kipling Rd., Dummerston, Vt) during the summer months. They are times to celebrate the harvest, good simple food, and community in a stunning setting – picnic style. The Early Risers, library enthusiasts Ashley Storrow and Putnam Smith, will provide music during the event. Outdoor and indoor tables and chairs are provided as well as a sprawling grassy hillside ripe for picnic blankets, folding lawn chairs, and bare feet.

The event runs from 5:30-7:30pm and tickets are $20 for adults or $12 for children under 12. Each ticket comes with a savory supper crêpe (galette), sweet dessert crêpe, and side salad. Drinks are available for purchase.

Putney Public Library’s fundraising pays for all of the library’s events and the museum and parks pass lending program! Support the library while enjoying a beautiful Vermont evening.

Tickets are limited and advanced purchase is required. Additional information and tickets are available at https://www.scottfarmvermont.com/crepe-night.

Jessie Haas Presents on Her Historical Novel, Dearest Blood
Tuesday, June 9th at 6:30 pm at Putney Library
Join local author Jessie Haas as she presents on the process of researching and writing her latest novel, Dearest Blood: A Romance of the Revolution at Putney Public Library on Tuesday, June 9th at 6:30pm.
Dearest Blood is a biographical novel inspired by the true story of F***y Montresor, a young woman with a secret identity whose love and loyalties crossed both sides of the American Revolution. Set in Westminster (now Vermont) in 1775, the first section takes F***y through the turmoil that led to the Westminster Massacre. The novel resumes 1783 when F***y, now a dashing young widow, returns to Westminster hoping to recover her Tory stepfather’s confiscated land. Also on the hunt for that land is Vermont hero Ethan Allen.
Jessie Haas grew up in Westminster, VT, on a farm owned in 1775 by a militia-man who fought at Bunker Hill. Her writing career has been dominated by a love of horses and history. She sold her first book, Keeping Barney, a month before graduating from Wellesley College. Forty-one books later, she has award-winning picture books, poetry, novels, and nonfiction to her credit, including four books about Westminster. She is the president of the Westminster Historical Society, and an expert on the Westminster Massacre. She owns two Morgan mares, and continues to farm, garden, and ride on the home place.
Putney Public Library is located at 55 Main St. Putney, VT. This event is free and open to the public.
