Over the winter 6 members of the department attended ice rescue training hosted by Walpole Fire/ EMS and attended by several neighboring departments. This training allowed 3 of the members to be trained to the technician level and 3 to be trained to the operations level. Members also became comfortable with gear that is carried on several of our trucks, met and worked with mutual aid partners, and improved our ability to better serve our community and those communities around us.

Southerly winds 10-15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph are expected this afternoon with minimum relative humidity values as low as 20-30%. If any fires were to start, the weather and fuel conditions could cause fires to quickly get out of control and be difficult to contain.
