Lifeguard EMS Lamar Med 1, Med 2, Med 4, EMS 1 and EMS 2 assisted Lamar County Fire Services, Southeast Lamar Fire Department, Southwest Fire, and Northeast Fire on a large, and difficult structure fire today. Outside feels like temperature was 102°., which made this fire especially difficult. Everyone did a phenomenal job trying to protect life and property.

Lifeguard Southern Mississippi was honored to be a part of the National EMS Memorial Service. Our parent company, Global Medical Response partners with this traveling memorial that spans the entire width of the United States that ends in Virginia for the National Ceremony. Along the way this year the traveling memorial stopped in Jackson, Mississippi. We helped es**rt the traveling memorial to the State Capitol to honor those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

Lifegaurd Lamar Med 1 and EMS 1 assisted Lamar County Fire Services Northeast Lamar Fire & Rescue Oak Grove Fire & Rescue and Central Lamar Fire & Rescue on a structure fire today. Fire fighters battled hot conditions but performed admirably.

Shelby our Pawamedic therapy dog came down with Christy Payne from AMR Jackson to visit with Hattiesburg Clinic, fire fighters, EMS, dispatchers and county officials and provide some assistance after a difficult day this week. GMR/Lifeguard has therapy dogs that can deploy to communities when needed or in disaster situations.

During National CPR & AED Awareness Week, we’re reminded how critical it is to be ready to act when every second counts.

Knowing how to perform CPR—and how to use an AED—can save a life. Simple, immediate action like calling 911, starting compressions, and using an AED can make all the difference in an emergency. We know that early CPR, before EMS arrives can greatly improve survival from these events.
