I wanted to post some pictures of a couple projects we completed last month in McClain County. We did two front slope repairs on High Hazard dams, Finn Creek Sites 18 and 33. We would like to thank the landowners for being very cooperative with the work done on their property and also thank the Oklahoma Conservation Commission for providing us the funds to complete these projects. ODAFF will be hosting two Unwanted Pesticides this fall, one in Pond Creek on November 12, and one in Clinton on November 13!

Unwanted pesticides are pesticides that are unusable as originally intended for various reasons. Unwanted are leftover pesticides, pesticides that are no longer registered in the state of Oklahoma, pesticides that no longer have labels and pesticides that are no longer identifiable.

There is no cost for the first 2,000 pounds of pesticides brought in by a participant.

McClain County Conservation District is seeking a qualified individual for the position of Watershed Aide. Applicants must have a CDL (or obtain within 90 days of employment), High School graduation or equivalent and one year experience in customer service, public agencies, landscape, rural lands, construction maintenance, or closely related area; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the duties of the job such as those listed. Agricultural knowledge is beneficial but not required.

Salary and benefits- $3,558.61 per month, health insurance, retirement plan, vacation and sick leave.
