🚨 OSSAA MANDATORY DEAD PERIOD NOTICE 🚨

The annual OSSAA Summer Dead Period begins Saturday, June 27, and runs through Sunday, July 5, 2026.

Per OSSAA regulations, all Purcell athletic facilities are strictly CLOSED and locked during this time. This includes all gyms, fields, the weight room, etc.
No student-led workouts or practices are allowed on school property.
No coach-led training, meetings, or athletic contact is permitted.

Take this time to rest, recharge, and enjoy the summer holiday with your families, Dragons!

This past weekend, KK Vazquez represented Purcell Softball on the field one final time as a Dragon! KK competed in the All-State Fastpitch Softball Game held on the campus of Oklahoma Christian University — the very same field where she will continue her softball career this fall at Oklahoma Christian. 🚀 FLYING HIGH IN PURCELL! 🛩️
Earlier this week, Mr. Ray Samford attended the Oklahoma Aerospace & Aeronautics training for aviation educators, and he is bringing something huge back to Purcell High School!

The training gave Mr. Samford a fantastic opportunity to learn and grow as an educator, but the excitement didn't stop in the classroom. At the conclusion of the event, the educators were treated to an OKC Comets baseball game filled with treats, prizes, and giveaways.

During the event, Mr. Samford won the ultimate prize for our school: a Redbird Jay Velocity Flight Simulator! 🛩️🎮

This incredible $5,000 piece of equipment is coming straight to our aviation classroom, giving our students hands-on, high-tech experience as they learn the ins and outs of flight.

Thank you, Mr. Samford, for your dedication to expanding your skills and for securing this amazing resource for our students. The sky is the limit for our Purcell aviators! 🔴⚫️🦅

Purcell Public Schools is excited to offer our FREE Summer Feeding Program to help ensure children stay healthy and nourished over the summer break!

✅ FREE meals for all children ages 0–18

Purcell Public Schools is pleased to announce our Summer Feeding Program, designed to ensure that our students continue to receive nutritious meals while school is out of session. These meals are free for children ages 0-18 years. We are offering both on-site dining and convenient pick-up locations throughout the community.

Huge congratulations to our very own Ray Samford for being named the 2026 OCA Region 5 Track Coach of the Year!

We are incredibly proud of the endless hours, dedication, and heart Coach Samford pours into both our Cross Country and Track programs year-round. This is a massive honor and a much-deserved award for a coach who truly embodies Dragon Pride and pushes our student-athletes to be their absolute best.
