TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT UPDATE: Graffius Ave & Sycamore Street
The Police Department has received several resident complaints regarding speeding and requests for increased traffic enforcement in our community. In response, officers recently conducted targeted traffic monitoring and enforcement details on Graffius Avenue and Sycamore Street.

The findings from these details are listed below:

Graffius Avenue
Posted Speed Limit: 25 mph

Average Recorded Speed: 32.62 mph

Traffic Stops Conducted: 5

Enforcement Actions: 2 citations, 3 warnings issued

Note: Of the 5 traffic stops conducted on this roadway, 3 involved residents who reside on Graffius Avenue.

Sycamore (Speedway) Street
Posted Speed Limit: 30 mph

Average Recorded Speed: 27.35 mph

Traffic Stops Conducted: 0

Enforcement Actions: None

We hear your concerns regarding traffic safety throughout the municipality. Please be advised that additional streets have been noted based on citizen feedback.

Targeted enforcement and data collection are currently being scheduled for these areas. Results for those additional streets will be compiled and posted as soon as they become available.

Yesterday the Punxsutawney Borough Police hosted the 2025 shop with a cop program. We would like to thank every one that volunteered and helped this program in anyway! This program has grown bigger over the years and it wouldn’t be possible without all of our volunteers and donors. A special thanks to Jan Bosak for her months of hard work organizing the event.
