Garden Talk & Plant Clinic | Tuesday, June 9th from 1-3pm
LAWN REPLACEMENT STRATEGIES

Traditional lawns average more than 30% of household water usage and are essentially ecological dead-zones for native animals and pollinators. That said, lawn replacement can feel quite overwhelming. Master Gardener Sheila McKinnon is here to help! This month we will review the pros and cons of traditional turf lawns, ideas for environmentally sound alternatives, removal techniques, and next steps after you remove your lawn.

Garden Talk meets the second Tuesday of each month. Each session features a presentation on a garden-related topic, followed by a walk-in plant clinic where WSU Master Gardeners answer questions and accept samples of problem plants for diagnosis. Stay the whole time or just drop in for the part that interests you.

All are welcome! The Q***r Book Club is a reading group that discusses books by LGBTQIA+ authors or featuring q***r themes. It is a space to connect, share diverse stories, and explore q***r culture, identities, and history.

QBC meets the first Friday of the month at 5:30pm. The books, which are suggested and selected by members, have come from a diverse array of genres, including romance, fantasy, literary fiction, memoir, and graphic novels.
