Interested in becoming a certified lifeguard?

Join us September 25-27 for our American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification Course at the University of Idaho Swim Center.

Participants must be at least 15 years old and successfully complete a swim skills evaluation during the first in-person session.

The Schweitzer Wellbeing Center is hiring lifeguards ahead of our January reopening.

If you love the water, enjoy helping others stay safe, and are a strong swimmer, we'd love to hear from you. Not certified yet? September 25-27 we'll offer a lifeguard certification course for those interested in joining our team.

Please note: The Schweitzer Wellbeing Center is currently closed for a major remodel and is scheduled to reopen in January 2027. Individuals hired for this position will begin training in December 2026, with regular work responsibilities starting in January 2027.

Big changes are underway at the Schweitzer Wellbeing Center! Phase I of renovations include a new HVAC system, new locker rooms, updated pool features and paint, expanded office areas, and new lighting.

As work has progressed, additional project requirements and finishing details have extended the construction schedule, and we now anticipate reopening in January of 2027. We appreciate the community’s understanding and patience as we work to provide a safe and high-quality facility for our community.

A record-breaking 38 participants joined us for our last aquatic fitness class of the season. What a gift to spend the summer with you all! Thank you for your time, enthusiasm, and joy you brought to class. We loved every minute.

See us at the National Lentil Festival this Saturday in Reaney Park! We invite you to stop by our booth, meet with our staff, learn more about the renovation project, and reconnect with the Wellbeing Center community.
