The Pulaski County Public Service Authority (PCPSA) will be completing their annual flushing of the water distribution system. Flushing is an important maintenance technique to remove stagnant water, restore disinfectant residual, remove loose deposits, and scour pipe surfaces. Flushing involves opening a distribution system hydrant and allowing water to discharge from the system. During this process, loose deposits are lifted from the pipe and removed, which leads to discolored water exiting the system.
PCPSA Staff will be performing this task between 9:00 P.M. and 5:00 A.M. nightly, depending on weather, to minimize impacts to customers. However, there is a possibility that customers could still experience discolored water at their home/business. If you do experience discolored water, you should identify the cold-water faucet closest to the incoming water service serving your home/business and run cold water until clear. It is important to use cold water to avoid sediments entering your hot water heater.
Flushing will begin on Monday, June 8th, 2026, at approximately 9:00 P.M. and will continue nightly for 6-8 weeks, depending on weather. Areas being flushed include, but are not limited to, the following:
Week 1 – Draper Area
In and around areas including, but not limited to the following roadways: Water Plant Rd., Hawks Nest Ln., Old Baltimore R., Barrett Ridge Rd., Kirby Rd, Graham Rd, Lake Ridge Dr. and Old Baltimore Road.
Week 2 – Newbern/Thornspring Area
In and around areas including, but not limited to the following roadways: Wilderness Rd., Lyons Rd., Cougar Trail Rd., Pepperell Way, Hatcher Rd., Lee Highway (Rte. 11), Thornspring Rd., Alum Spring Road.
Week 3 – Thornspring/Fairlawn (East) Area
In and around areas including, but not limited to the following roadways: Alum Spring Rd., Thornspring Rd., Old Rte. 100, Hickman Cemetery Rd., Morgan Farm Rd., Falling Branch Rd., and Peppers Ferry Blvd (Rte. 114).
Week 4 – Fairlawn (Central)/Belspring Area
In and around areas including, but not limited to the following roadways: Peppers Ferry Blvd (Rte. 114), Riverbend Dr., Dudley Ferry Rd., Annie Akers Rd., Brooklyn Rd., Viscoe Rd., Lee Highway (Rte. 11), and Gate 10 Road.
Week 5 – Fairlawn (West)/Dublin Area
In and around areas including, but not limited to the following roadways: State Park Rd., Wilderness Rd., Stone Ridge Dr., River Course Dr. and Teeth of the Dog Drive.
Week 6 – Mt. Olivet/Brookmont Area
In and around areas including, but not limited to the following roadways: Mt. Olivet Rd., Evans St., Finks Farm Rd., and Brookmont Road.
