May is a big month for medical and first responder appreciation. And although we appreciate each and every person every day of the year, every May there are days (and in some cases weeks) set aside to point out and appreciate the different fields.
May 4th was International Firefighter's Day. All of our firefighters are greatly appreciated each and every day. Whether it be for a paid service like Pulaski Tennessee Fire Department or Volunteer like Giles County Fire & Rescue, these men and women give up their time to care for our community. We also can't forget Pulaski Police's PSOs or Ardmore Fire & Rescue. In a small town, firefighters are more than just the people who show up when the tones drop. They are our neighbors, coworkers, friends, family members, coaches, church members, and the folks you see at the gas station one minute and on an emergency scene the next.
They answer calls at all hours, in all weather, and in every kind of situation imaginable. Fires, wrecks, storms, medical calls, rescues, and the occasional “you won’t believe this” call are all part of the job.
We are thankful for every firefighter who serves our community and for the teamwork we get to share with them on scene.
