Tonight, we lift up big prayers for the families, friends, and entire Vanderbilt LifeFlight team after the tragic helicopter crash that claimed the life of one brave crew member and left two others in critical condition.

These heroes dedicate their lives to saving others every single day โ€” and now itโ€™s our turn to stand behind them in prayer and support.

Please join me in praying for healing, comfort, and strength for everyone affected by this heartbreaking event.

NASHVILLE โ€“ As Tennessee enters its annual wildfire season during National Fire Prevention Week, the Tennessee Department of Agriculture Division of Forestry (TDF) reminds residents to burn safely and responsibly. Beginning October 15, anyone burning leaves or natural debris must obtain a free burn permit from TDF.

โ€œTennessee experiences about 1,000 wildland fires each year, burning roughly 18,000 acres, and more than 90% are caused by humans,โ€ State Forester Heather Slayton said. โ€œWith extra debris from Hurricane Helene, thereโ€™s more fuel for fires this season. Getting a burn permit, burning safely, and avoiding risky activity can greatly reduce wildfire danger.โ€

Always charge devices with lithium-ion batteries on a hard, flat surface such as a table or counter. Charging on soft surfaces like a bed or couch can trap heat and start a fire.
