There have been numerous messages stating that the weather warning app "RAVE" is not working properly or some people cannot register.

This site is not responsible for the app and we have no idea how to make it work. My suggestion is that you contact the County Judge's Office (606-678-4853), and I am sure they will provide a contact number or website where you can describe the problem you are having.

Please do not contact 911 about this issue. Again, they have no control over it.

Over the next several weeks, we will be providing you with the opportunity to participate in a series of surveys concerning your sentiments about the direction and emergency response preparedness of Pulaski Co., KY.

We will begin with general surveys to get a baseline of participants and their magisterial districts. The majority of the surveys will consist of your perceptions of specific categories of critical needs for community survival and sustenance.

All survey responses will be anonymous, and we will not ask for any personal information. What we are looking for is your honest opinions on where you think Pulaski County currently stands regarding emergencies and disaster preparedness. All survey results will be made public.

We hope you will take the time to offer your opinions and concerns. Invite all your contacts to follow this page and participate in the surveys. We are planning to post the first survey during the week of June 22nd, and the remaining surveys will be posted weekly. The more people completing the surveys, the more accurate the data. Moving forward begins with knowing where you are, as individuals and as a community.

June has become one of the hottest months of the year in Kentucky. Over the next couple of weeks, temperatures will climb into the mid- to upper-80's, and with rain in the forecast, the humidity will be on the high side.

At this point, there has been no information provided by Pulaski County on providing cooling stations for those who may be susceptible to high heat and humidity.

Be prepared by knowing where and when these cooling stations will be open. Check on your friends and neighbors during periods of extreme heat, especially those who may need assistance moving to a cooler location.

The first true heat wave of the summer will arrive next week across much of the Central and Southern Plains, eventually making its way to the east coast towards the end of the week.
