Grateful for the opportunity for our office to attend the DV Symposium today. We’re always striving to learn more, strengthen our skills, and better support those impacted by domestic violence. Listening to Gabby Petito’s stepfather share her story was emotional, inspiring, and deeply meaningful. We’re leaving with renewed purpose and commitment to the work we do every day.

We extend our deepest gratitude to Florence Hunt as we celebrate her remarkable 38 years of service as our Victim Witness Coordinator. Florence retired on June 20, 2026, leaving behind an incredible legacy of compassion, dedication, and unwavering support for victims and their families.

When Florence began her career in the District Attorney's Office she set the standard for what it means to serve with heart. For over nearly four decades, she guided countless individuals through some of the most difficult moments of their lives with strength and kindness.

Florence, thank you for your commitment to justice, your steady presence, and the countless lives you’ve touched throughout your years with us. You have made a lasting impact on this office and on our entire community.

We wish you all the happiness and relaxation in this next chapter of life. Congratulations on a well‑earned retirement!

Pueblo County District Attorney's Office is proud to congratulate Deputy District Attorney Courtney Mascarenas on receiving the 2025 Non-Commissioned Law Enforcement Personnel Award from the Southeastern Colorado Law Enforcement Association. She was honored with this award in May 2026 at the Annual SCLEA Awards Luncheon.

Courtney’s journey with our office began right after she graduated from South High School, when she joined us as a volunteer intern. She continued to return each summer during college and later became part of our Student Internship Program during her second year at Creighton University School of Law. After earning her law degree, she joined our team as a County Court Deputy District Attorney.

We are grateful to have Courtney on our team and incredibly proud of the hard work, dedication, and commitment to our community that earned her this recognition. Congratulations, Courtney!
