We must never forget the events of September 11, 2001.
It’s been 25 years since our country changed forever.
Today we remember those whose lives were taken, those heroes who answered the call, and those whose lives have been changed forever.
Twenty-five years later, we will never forget.

Sometimes our deputies protect more than just our community. Many times they protect tiny paws too.
While patrolling through the rural roads in eastern Pueblo County today, Lt. Josh Rude spotted a tiny kitten abandoned on the road.
Lt. Rude didn’t hesitate. He stopped and safely rescued the little furball, getting it out of harm's way. The kitty is now being well cared for and, as you can imagine, is receiving lots of love and cuddles.
This is more than just a cute moment. It's another example of the compassion and kindness our deputies bring to work every day.
Thank you, Lt. Rude, for creating a purrfect ending to this situation.

Huge shoutout to Lisa and Ken Guagliardo for spoiling our K9s and our deputies too!
The Guagliardos generously donated basketfuls of toys, tasty snacks, and many thoughtful pet accessories for the four-legged deputies – Loki, Gunner, Zeus, and Edo. 🦴
They also gifted our K9 handlers and patrol deputies with mountains of food, snacks, drinks, desserts, and other super useful goodies. 🍇🍪🔦
We appreciate your generosity and thoughtfulness. Your kindness brought plenty of smiles and tail wags.
🐾Paws down, Lisa and Ken, you are the best! 💙🖤

Great news regarding FEMA Public Assistance for Aspen Acres Fire recovery.

Great news regarding FEMA Public Assistance for Aspen Acres Fire recovery.

This is welcome news for Pueblo County and an important milestone in our recovery from the Aspen Acres Fire.

President Trump has approved FEMA Public Assistance for communities impacted by this devastating fire. We are waiting on the details of the approval, but this is encouraging news for Pueblo County and our residents. The assistance can help support critical recovery work, including debris removal, emergency response, damaged roads, water systems, utilities and other essential public infrastructure.

We are grateful to everyone who sent letters, made calls and advocated for our community. Your voices mattered.

As the Pueblo County Board of County Commissioners, we will continue working with our state and federal partners to make sure Pueblo County receives every available resource to support our recovery.

But our work is not finished. Families lost homes, property and livelihoods, and additional assistance remains under review.

Our recovery continues, and Pueblo County will continue standing together.
