Today we hit a major milestone for the McLaughlin Building. A 250k investment from History Colorado and a 75k match from the owner.

This funding fuels critical preservation improvements that protect a historic space while supporting the future of our very beautiful, unique city center.

We’re grateful for partners, neighbors, preservationists, and emerging developers who make progress like this possible.

🐾 MEET THE PURA PUPS 🐾

In honor of National Dog Day, we're celebrating some of our favorite four-legged friends: the PURA Pups! While they may not attend board meetings or review development plans, they play an important role in our lives by keeping us active, grounded, and smiling.

Whether they're our walking buddies, weekend adventure partners, or unofficial work-from-home supervisors, these pups remind us to enjoy the many parks, trails, neighborhoods, and community spaces that make Pueblo unique.

Today is all about wagging tails, wet noses, and celebrating the dogs who make life a little better every day.

Show us your Pueblo pups in the comments!

Project Area Updates Continued!
As the Downtown Expanded Urban Renewal Area enters its final three years, we're reflecting on more than two decades of investment, partnership, and progress in the heart of Pueblo.

Since 2004, PURA has helped support projects that strengthen a healthy and vibrant downtown, including historic preservation efforts, public safety improvements, retail and commercial development, strategic land banking for future opportunities, tourism enhancements, façade improvements, and placemaking initiatives that make downtown a destination for residents and visitors alike.

A strong downtown is more than a collection of buildings and businesses. It's the economic, cultural, and social center of a community. The work accomplished through the Downtown Expanded URA has helped create momentum that continues to shape Pueblo's future.

With just three years remaining before the district expires in 2029, we look forward to continuing partnerships and investments that support a thriving urban core for generations to come.
