🇺🇸 A Little Child’s Prayer 🇺🇸
We, the Mayes County Blue Star Moms had a table set up at the Mayes County Fair, and along with info on our organization and taking donations, we were giving away little toy soldiers. We asked everyone who took one to please take their soldier home, and place it somewhere that would remind them to pray for all the brave men and women serving our country. 🙏🇺🇸
A young boy—probably about four years old—came up to our table. He was so young you could only see his head over the top of it. I explained to him that if he took one of the little Army men, he needed to put it somewhere that would remind him to say a prayer for our troops and ask God to keep them safe.
I asked him, “Can you do that?”
He looked at me and then put the little soldier back in the bowl.
My first thought was, Oh no… he doesn’t want to do that.
But then, he put his little hands together near his head, closed his eyes, and began to pray. 🙏
For what seemed like a good 30 seconds, this precious little boy stood there praying for our troops right then and there.
We were all in awe. ❤️
I was so touched that I didn’t even think to grab my phone and record it. In all the years we’ve done this, I don’t think we’ve ever had someone stop right there at our table and actually pray for our service members. And here was this sweet little maybe four-year-old boy, standing with his parents, bowing his head and praying for the brave men and women who serve our country.
It was one of those moments you wish you could freeze in time.
When he finally raised his little head and opened his eyes, he looked at me and smiled. Then he reached into the bowl, picked out a toy soldier, and took it home with him. 🇺🇸❤️
I will never forget that moment, or that little boy.
Sometimes the smallest hands can hold the biggest faith. 🙏🇺🇸
God bless that precious child, his family, and every man and woman who puts on the uniform to protect our freedom.
