Start your pre July 4th week celebrations with golf and fun! We still have a few team spots available.
Don't miss the Roscommon County Genealogical Society Golf Scramble on Saturday, June 27 at Redwood Golf Course. Details include:
* Format - Scramble: Everyone tees off, the best shot is selected, and all players hit their next shot from that spot.
* Teams will consist of no more than 4 players. If less than 4 players, special rules will apply.
* Each team must use at least 2 drives from every player
* Tee off placement: women - red tees, men 65 and older - gold tees, men 41 to 64 - white tees, men 40 and under - blue tees.
* Prizes: Top 3 teams: $200/$100/$60; Skins: $20/team - pay out for 1st and 2nd place; closest to the pin - $25; Mulligans - $5 each (max 8/team, 2 per person)
* 50/50 raffle, silent auction and other games!

Have your heard? From June until October we will be having our General Membership Meetings on the third Thursday from 5:00-7:00 pm instead of from 1:00-3:00 pm in the afternoon. This will give all you who have not been able to attend in the afternoon an opportunity to join us. Hope to see you at our next general membership meeting on Thursday, June 18th!

Join us at our next general membership meeting on Thursday, May 21 at 1:00 pm at the REC (1840 W. Houghton Lake Drive, Prudenville - next to the Splash and Dash). All are welcome!

After a brief business meeting, Donnie Boursaw will be presenting tips on how to index like a pro. There are several organizations dealing with historic documents and records that seek volunteer indexers, including FamilySearch and Ancestry. Donnie will explain what indexing is, how it is done, and how it is a simple way to contribute to the community of researchers. Best of all, it can be done from the comfort of your own home. Come join us - tomorrow at 1:00 pm.
