Salvation Army Bell Ringing 2022 is underway!!

Should you have a desire to pitch in and have some fun, spread some holiday cheer by ringing bells for the Salvation Army let us know.

We will be ringing at WalMart & Family Fare in Houghton Lake on Fridays and Saturdays starting November 25th thru December 24th.
We traditionally start at 10am and finish each day at 6pm, scheduling volunteers in shifts of 2 hours.

Fantastic turn out!! Awesome time with great friends at our Whitetail's Unlimited 20th year anniversary banquet last night.

Getting our Salvation Army Bell Ringers setup this morning to start our 8 day Friday & Saturday ringing thru December 19th.

Salvation Army Bell Ringing!! We are again going to Bell ring in Houghton Lake & Roscommon. It has been a tough year for a lot of people, and what way better to help them out. 100% of whats raised in our communities are spent in our communities.

So, once again as has been done in the past for decades, we the HL Kiwanis Club will strive to pull this off in a time so weird and uncertain. We will be concentrating on the following dates, December 4th, 5th, 11th, 12th, 18th, and 19th. Basically Friday and Saturday of the first 3 weeks of December. ** I have just been asked by our volunteers to include November 27th & 28th.** Where?? Hopefully with the help of the generous time giving volunteers that have come forward before - Family Fare in Roscommon and HL, and WalMart in HL. All locations 10am - 5pm, 1 hour shifts.

Volunteers we need your help once again, Individuals, Organizations, Groups, and Businesses that would consider ringing would be greatly appreciated. They have arrived, and are out in the community for you to enjoy! HL Kiwanis Gourmet Nut Fundraiser. They are available anytime from Edward Jones office in Prudenville, OR at either location of TCF (Chemical) Bank in HL, Yardbird Outdoor Power Equipment, and Great Lakes Accounting Service after 1pm tomorrow. TCF Bank in Roscommon also has them this year!! Thank you to all the businesses, and their help with this funraiser. :)

To All Of Our Kiwanian Friends & Family,

In an effort to be conscious of everyone's health and safety, we are cancelling our Whitetails Unlimited Banquet set for April 18th, 2020.

I have heard from so many of our faithful attendees with your hopes, and concerns. Giving the fact that our banquet would be on the very back door of the current "stay-at-home" order we do not want to take a chance with anyone's well being that we care for.

We will just have to make next years, bigger and better!!

Again, I am sorry. It is a time we all look forward to, to see and visit one another, and have fun for a good cause.

Thank you again for everyone of you who constantly supports our efforts to support children and families in our community.

May all of you, your family, and friends be safe during this time.

We had Matt Rowland from the Salvation Army join us for our meeting yesterday.
You just can't get things done without great volunteers, and leaders. A huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped this past holiday season with ringing the bells for the Salvation Army.
This also could not be done if not for the help of Gerald Dixon and Ted Straubel, committee chairs, you guys are awesome.
The amount collected and presented to Matt this year was over $18,000.00. And 100% of that stays here in Roscommon County to help those in need!
Thank you again for all of you in our communities that volunteered, your priceless.
