In collaboration with family members, Provo Police Detectives are appealing to the public for any information on the whereabouts of 7-year-old missing twins, Amelia and Sophia Johns. It is believed they are with their mother, Victoria Zoe Vincent (29). They may also be using the surname, Vincent. There is no information indicating the children are in danger at this time, only that their mother left with them voluntarily, and without knowledge or consent of their father.

Amelia and Sophia were last seen with their mother on July 21st, 2025, attending a gymnastics class at the Orem Recreation Center. Their family vehicle was left in the parking lot of the facility, with the keys inside, and Victoria and the twins have not been seen by remaining paternal family members since.

The father of the children, Joshua Johns, filed a missing persons report with Provo Police Department three months later, in October of 2025. The children were listed as missing on NCIC at that time, and investigators have followed up on all leads and information provided by family members and other law enforcement agencies. However, Amelia and Sophia have not been located. The Vincents have familial ties in the Spokane area of Washington State, as well as Texas and California.

A subsequent divorce decree between Vincent and Johns was finalized in December 2025, assigning sole custody to the girls’ father. We are seeking to locate Amelia and Sophia, to comply with the court-ordered agreement. If anyone has information that could help us find the twins, please call our detectives at 801 852 6210.

Alternatively, information can be sent via the National Center of Missing & Exploited Children online tips, or by calling 1800 843 5678.

We love our annual Cops & Bobbers event with Provo District's Elementary kids. It's a fantastic way to connect with our community and teach a few skills along the way. We couldn't do these events without the generous support we get each year from partners and sponsors - so we want to holler a big THANK YOU to Utah DNR/DWR, Provo School District, Craig Johnson Law, Adams & Adams Enterprises, Whitehouse & Co Advisors, TJ Concrete Pumping, Valgardson's House Movers, Franz Bakery, Wholesale Fishing Supplies, Sam's Club, Ream's Springville Market, Macey's Grocery Provo, and Texas Roadhouse Orem.

In our most recent state legislative session, HB 381 amended provisions regarding electric assisted bicycles. As of today, May 6th, it is now law that: “…individuals under 21 shall wear helmets while operating electric assisted bicycles on a highway.” (Electric assisted bicycles include class 1, 2, and 3.) This is an infraction under state law. Our goal is to inform and educate on this new rule, but no matter how old you are, your safety is always important - please wear a helmet and look out for each other.

Our Metro Communications Center received a call at approximately 7:32 am today, Monday May 4th, 2026, wherein a caller reported they were at Provo High School and would kill themselves and others.

Provo Police Officers, including the Provo High School Resource Officer, followed our protocol in securing the building, initiating a lockdown, and conducting a thorough search for suspicious circumstances and person/s. (No other schools were affected.)

After a thorough search of the school, no safety threats were found. While it it appears at this time to have been a hoax, officers are continuing their investigation into the call.

The lockdown was removed at 10 am, with normal activity to resume. The School District is in communication with parents and students, and their subsequent instructions should be referred to.

We understand these types of incidents can be frightening for students and guardians alike. We want to remind our community that our department will always respond to, and investigate, threats toward our schools, their students, and staff. We appreciate the community’s patience and support while we carried out our duties.

There is no immediate risk to the community at this time.
