The Peace Flag Project

The Peace Flag Project We want to inspire people to take their own important steps for peace --big and small steps --every day. We have expanded this celebration to a Month of Peace.

The Peace Flag Project helps everyone to imagine peace and to be a peacemaker. Einstein wrote “Imagination is a preview of life’s coming attractions.” What we can imagine we can create. We are a pro-peace nonprofit, and our work is focused on imagining peace, understanding peace, creating peace and being peace. We work with people to create Peace Flags that reflect positive wishes for the world. T

his is an enriching and enlightening experience for all ages. The flags are based on the Tibetan Prayer Flag tradition. For centuries, these flags have sent out prayers for peace, harmony and compassion. Our major event is the celebration of the UN International Day of Peace each September, which is celebrated all around the world. We help to create Peace Gardens, peaceful spaces for a little quiet time. Getting Involved

Love this from Tony Kushner. What do you feel called to do?
"I like this from the astute Tony Kushner.

"At every moment in every person’s life there is work to be done, always work to be done, some of it small, some of it Great. The Great Work, in a sense, always has to do with healing the world, changing the world, and, as a necessary predicate to that, understanding the world. You rise every morning aware that you are called to this work. You won’t live to see it finished. But if you can’t hear it calling, you aren’t listening hard enough. It’s always calling, sometimes in a big voice, sometimes in a quiet voice."

--- Tony Kushner, b. 1956.

Rokero, Sudan: We launched a measles vaccination campaign that reached thousands of children.

Doctors Without Borders teams traveled to remote villages on donkeys, in tuk-tuks and cars. The teams set up the clinics in whatever public space was available: schools, markets, and health facilities, ensuring accessibility for local communities. This is crucial in a region where rugged terrain and blocked roads often limit health care access.

ADHD diagnoses are climbing among adult women. Experts say it’s likely not a wave of misdiagnoses—but a sign that medicine is finally catching up to reality.

The overwhelming majority of research on ADHD has been done in boys and men, but symptoms often present differently for girls and women, causing many to go untreated. Learn more about the gender gap in ADHD diagnoses and symptoms: https://on.natgeo.com/41FbT51
