Joint Legislative Commission to Study the Use of E-Textbooks Comprised of 14 members from the public and private sectors, this Committee was sponsored in the Senate by Sen. Objectives:
1.

Ed O'Neill to study the use of electronic textbooks in public schools. Reduce the cost of providing textbook information including distribution cost and obsolescence.
2. Provide students with devices that will function for most/all subjects.
3. Eliminate the '40 lb.' backpack students carry with books.
4. Conserve natural resources used to print and distribute textbooks.
