🚧ATTN Providence Neighbors:
Construction crews will be milling Waterman Street next week to remove the top layer of pavement in preparation for paving the street. Milling between Gano St and the Henderson Bridge ramps will take place on Tuesday 9/15 and Wednesday 9/16 (9:00 am to 3:00 pm).

Road paving will occur the week of September 27th (7:00 pm to 6:00 am). During this time parking along Waterman St will be impacted and road closures will occur in the vicinity of the construction equipment. All traffic will be detoured around the work zone. We encourage residents to take extra precautions while driving in this area for the safety of our crews.

This morning, members of the Providence Fire Department gathered at Headquarters to remember those we lost on September 11th.

For us, honoring them is more than remembering what happened that day. It’s about how we carry their memory forward in the way we serve, the way we treat one another, and the pride we take in this job.

We will never forget.

Starting this week, the eastern shoreline and paths at India Point Park, as well as the soccer field, will be closed for shoreline resiliency improvements.

Work is expected to be substantially complete this winter, but the newly planted areas will need time to establish in the spring.
