A “lunch and learn” this week supported Meals on Wheels of RI’s Mission Impact Committee, comprised of board members and community stakeholders with subject matter expertise, in continued collaborative learning alongside Meals on Wheels team members.

Together, our committee and team took a deep dive into the roles of our Mission Impact team in their work across our programming that last year served more than 5,500 food and nutrition-insecure Rhode Islanders across the state.

August has served us so many opportunities to be out in community – getting to know our neighbors and finding new ways to support each other!

Our team had an great time representing for the neighborhood at the Smith Hill Block Party! Thank you to the Smith Hill Library for hosting an incredible event!

Thank you to Blackstone Valley Community Health Care for inviting us to table at the Blackstone Valley Health Fair. Special thank you to Mayor Maria Rivera and Congressman Gabe Amo for supporting this event and joining us!

MOWRI Executive Director and recently elected Meals on Wheels America Board Member Meghan Grady is in Las Vegas this week at an inspiring Annual Conference with Meals On Wheels leaders from across the country to focus on building operational strategies and resilience in addressing senior hunger.

Grady also served as a panelist for “Serving More With More: A Peer Discussion on Funding and Sustainability” moderated by TRIO Community Meals (MOWRI’s home-delivered program caterer) Director of Marketing Tristin Perry.
