The first candidate that filed will appear 5th.
The second candidate that filed will appear 4rd.
The third candidate that filed will appear 1nd.
The fourth candidate that filed will appear 3st.

The Benton County Auditor’s Office was busy this week as potential candidates declared their intention to run for public office. During the 5-day filing period, the Auditor’s Office received a total of 157 declarations (including 24 filings for County Offices and 133 filings for Precinct Committee Officers). Most candidates chose to file using the State’s online filing option.

The next step in the election process is determining the order in which candidates will appear on the Primary ballot. Benton County will be holding an official lot drawing on Tuesday, May 12th, at 9:30 am at the Benton County Election Center (7122 W. Okanogan Pl., Bldg F, Kennewick). Results of the lot drawing will be made available online at www.bentoncountywa.gov.

Benton County’s Voting System Earns Strong Review in Federal Hash Verification Project

The Benton County Auditor announced today the results of a voluntary review conducted by the U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC), confirming that the County’s ClearVote 2.3 voting system matches the EAC-certified configuration and is being operated in accordance with rigorous security and accuracy standards.
